This Gervasi Wedding is nothing like you’ve ever seen before. Sara and Steve decided to make every detail match their style as a couple and it all came together beautifully. First, the bride did her hair and makeup herself, knowing exactly the look she wanted. Next, let’s talk about the blush veil! In over 10 years of shooting weddings, this is the first blush veil we’ve ever seen. Gorgeous!
Both the bride and groom got ready in separate rooms on the Gervasi property. Once they were ready, they decided to do a first look. It was really important to the couple to get as many pictures out of the way before the ceremony so that they could mingle with guests during cocktail hour. This was a great decision since the weather look a turn later on in the day and the clouds turned dark and stormy. Luckily, most of the pictures were done at this point.
After the first look, we enjoyed the grounds of Gervasi a bit – the weeping willows are always a favorite! And the couple enjoyed time with their bridal party before the ceremony started.
Sara & Steve love their dogs, Vena and Cava more than anything. Since their fur babies couldn’t be present for the wedding, they found a creative way to still include them. They had their faces printed, blown up, and put on sticks (check out the pictures for reference). What great way to honor their pups… Seriously, how fun are they? The guests loved them so much and they were such a hit all throughout the day and night. This was such a great way to get Vena and Cava actually in wedding pictures throughout the day.
Sara and Steve met doing Cupid’s Undie Run in Cleveland (if you’ve never heard of this, you should check it out). Fitness is such an important element in both of their lives and something they’re both passionate about. For this reason, Sara and Steve opted to do a first workout instead of a first dance. Again, something we’ve only seen once over our decade of shooting weddings. It was one of the coolest and most unique things we’ve ever seen a couple do.
We’re huge advocates of creating a wedding that represents YOU!! And we can’t think of a couple who’s done that better than Sara and Steve!
