Roya and Derek’s Avalon Country Club Wedding at the Grand Resort was everything and more!

We are so obsessed with this couple and their perfect Avalon Country Club wedding at the Grand Resort. Roya is a bridal hair stylist and we first met her years ago when she did the hair of one of our brides. Getting to come full circle and shoot her wedding was a dream, we were honored when she reached out to us! When we got together for their engagement shoot, we all had so much fun and we knew their wedding day was going to blow us away. And it definitely did!

The day started with the bride and groom getting ready separately with their bridal party at the Grand Resort. Roya became emotional early on and it was super sweet to see her crying happy tears before all of the festivities began. Luckily her girls helped to wipe her tears away and she was looking stunning. After they got ready, the bride and groom did a “first touch” where they got to spend time together (without seeing each other) and read their vows before the ceremony. This was such a nice touch and you could feel the love.

Next, it was time for the outdoor ceremony, which was beautiful. They started with a traditional American wedding ceremony followed by a traditional Persian wedding ceremony. We absolutely adore couples embracing and merging their cultures and this ceremony was truly amazing. It included the Sofreh Aghd, which had the bride and groom sitting at a table adorned with several items that held special meaning. Roya and Derek also had a portion of the ceremony where family members brought them gifts of jewelry, which was really special.

After the ceremony, everyone got to celebrate. The reception at this Avalon Country Club wedding was stunning and everyone had a great time all night long. Roya and Derek entered and went straight to dancing with friends and family. Everyone ate and then spent the rest of the evening on the dance floor. The bride and groom even had to extend the party because no one was ready to stop at the original end time. That’s a sign of a really good party if you ask us!

What we loved most about this Avalon Country Club Wedding:

Well, we pretty much loved everything! We especially appreciated all the details that were so thought out and well planned. Roya and Derek even had monogramed drinks and stir sticks with their dogs faces on them. Talk about perfect! We also loved that we could take photos at night out by the Grand Resort pool, it made for such gorgeous and unique wedding pictures.
